  • Hernia Surgery
    Hernias are either congenital or developmental weaknesses in the abdominal wall. Hernia repair is one of the most commonly performed outpatient surgical procedure by Dallas Surgical Group. Since most hernias should be repaired, you should be referred to one of our surgeons for evaluation. Our surgeons are highly skilled in repairing all types of hernias, using the latest technology in hernia repair, in addition to the minimally invasive laparoscopic approach.


  • Gallbladder Disease / Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
    The standard treatment for gallbladder disease is laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder). The surgeons within the Divison of General Surgery at Dallas Surgical Group collectively perform over hundreds of laparoscopic cholecystectomies yearly, using the latest minimally invasive laparoscopic technology. Our surgeons are also highly skilled in biliary duct surgery and gallbladder cancer. Most of our patients are treated as outpatients and return home the same day.   • Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery
    All of our general surgeons are well trained in the latest minimally invasive technology including all most forms of laparoscopic surgery. Collectively, our surgeons are able to perform the following procedures:

  • Appendicitis / Appendectomy
    Appendicitis is acute inflammation of the appendix. Symptoms present as vague abdominal pain that eventually radiates to the right lower quadrant with associated nausea, vomiting, and fever. Most patients are usually seen in the emergency department for surgical consultation and are promptly taken to the operating room for appendectomy. Our surgeons are highly skilled in both laparoscopic and open appendectomy. Returning to work is variable, but usually within 1-2 weeks.


  • Endocrine Surgery / Thyroid / Parathyroid / Adrenal
    Endocrine surgery entails surgical therapy on organs related to your endocrine system including the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. These organs individually produce hormones that maintain total body homeostasis. Our surgeons are trained in all areas of endocrine surgery, including minimally invasive radioguided parathyroidectomy (MIRP).


  • Traumatic Injuries
    In the United States, trauma related injuries constitute the third leading cause of death of all ages, and the leading cause of death among children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Jefferson has additional training in trauma surgery and provides in-house trauma coverage at Methodist Medical Center, one of only three accrediated trauma centers in Dallas, TX.
